Secrets Of A Successful Blog

Do you know the characteristics of successful blogs? Successful blogs that make a lot of money have a lot of readers so if you want to have success with your blog, focus on getting lots of readers. There are many ways to go about getting readers, but you should know that only about a handful of them work to get you the readers that you desire.

If you didn't already know, you need a blog so that you can propel your business to the next level. I think it's plain to see that having a blog can do a lot for your business growth. In the internet marketing world, there's an old saying that says "the money is in the list", so if you want to earn money with your blog, focus on building a list.

Popular blogs have a readership level in the thousands. It could take some time to build this up from scratch or you can pay for advertising and set up a capture page to get users to subscribe to your blog. I personally feel that the first option of building a list from scratch is better. With this you are using free advertising. For one these people know you and like you and have grown to listen to your advice. If you think that you can't build a successful blog from scratch, then think again.

Internet marketing in general is hard, and building a successful blog is even harder. Popular blogs get a lot of traffic on a daily basis but you shouldn't let this discourage you if you're not getting a lot of traffic yet. You want to build successful blogs so that you can be perceived as an obvious expert in your niche. With credibility behind you, it will be easier for you to sell your products and services.

It doesn't matter what you use to monetize your blog - you need a lot of subscribers to make it successful. If you have Google AdSense on your blog, you should know that you will get a lot of clicks, but to repeatedly see the numbers rise in your favor, you need a following of people who will visit your blog on a daily basis. This is something that successful blogs have.

I mentioned above that successful blogs have a lot of traffic to their blog. This is important because without a lot of traffic you're dead in the water. You need a lot of traffic if you want to survive in the internet marketing world - that's just marketing 101. There are a ton of ways to get traffic, but only a few of them are worth your time. If you're a beginner, you should stick with the free ways to get traffic since you probably won't have a lot of money for advertising.

One of the best kinds of free advertising is video marketing. All you do is create 3-5 minute long videos and submit them to the top video sites. Sites such as YouTube, Metacafe, and Google Video are all popular sites and get a lot of traffic to them on a daily basis. You can stand to benefit from the traffic that these sites can deliver to you.

Another way to get traffic is with article marketing. Simply write up 300-500 word articles and submit them to the top article directories. Here are a few of my favorites below:

- EzineArticles.com - ArticleDashboard.com - ArticlesBase.com - GoArticles.com - IdeaMarketers.com

All of these sites can deliver a ton of hits to your blog. You will want to write on topics that are related to your blog so that you can get targeted visitors. You get search engine traffic when you write for the article directories, and you also get traffic when website owners publish your article on their website.

Another great way to get free traffic is with forum marketing. Sign up to a forum and post helpful messages on the forums. Reserve your advertising message until your signature line as this is the proper place to put your message - so keep this in mind.

Successful blogs have all of these things in common. If you want a blog that is successful, simply follow the tips in this article.

Common SEO Mistakes And How To Avoid Them

Creating an SEO can be very confusing as well as complicated. If your SEO is not created properly, you will not get recognized as much in the search engines. Avoiding some of the more common mistakes can help you get noticed and possibly even get your internet marketing at the top of the list.

1. Avoid targeting the wrong keywords
-This is the most common SEO mistake that is even made by the experts. This usually occurs when you are trying to create more descriptive keywords that describe your website but the words you use are not the words that most people search for. You need to be sure to choose the correct SEO keywords as it is one of the most important factors in creating your SEO. You can either make or, worse yet, break your SEO campaign by this one simple mistake. There are software tools available that can help you create your keywords. One of the most popular is Website Keyword suggestion.

2. Do not ignore your title tag
-Leaving out your title tag is another common mistake that is also made by the experts. This is the most important area of your SEO to have your keyword. This will show up as the title of your website in the search engines.

3. Using a flash website that does not contain HTML
-A flash website may appear appealing to you but it is not appealing to users, or even search engines for that matter. If you still prefer to use a flash website be sure that you include an HTML version of the site.

4. Using Java Script Menus
-Search engines do not recognize Java Scripts and therefore should be left out. If you do happen to have certain portions of your website that do contain Java Script you will want to create a site map.

5. Do not forget Consistency and Maintenance
-Against popular belief you cannot create an SEO and forget about it as it will not last forever. If you want your website to continue to be popular you will need to provide both consistency and maintenance regularly. One important aspect of this is keeping an eye on your competition and changing your keywords accordingly.

6. Do not concentrate too much on your Meta Tags
-Meta tags are becoming a thing of the past and therefore it is better to begin leaving them out for best results.

7. Do not use only images for your headline
-Search engines do not primarily search for images so avoid these at all costs. If you still wish to use an image as a headline be sure to add keywords to your title as well. This will improve your chances of having your site noticed.

8. Do not ignore your URL's
-If you have a URL in your title you will then have an edge over your competitors. This is often left out but is a great way to get your site seen by more people as it ranks higher in the search engine.

9. Avoid backlink spamming
-Make sure your backlinks are of quality and not just spam as a way to add more keywords. This will only lose your search engine rank.

10. Avoid having a lack of related keywords in your content
-The more related keywords you have in your content the higher on the search engine you will appear. Make sure though that you place them only in places that will make sense. You can even bold or highlight them to make them stick out. If you do this you will improve your rank on the search engine.

Realizing these simple but common mistakes and how to correct them can help you create an awesome and well noticed SEO.

7 Online Marketing Tips For Beginners

Here are 7 online marketing tips for beginners.  We all have to start somewhere and there is a learning curve for selling information and products on the internet.  That is why I wanted to provide you with the best online marketing tips that I have developed.

1.)    An online marketing tip that I would advise everyone to take is to take some time to learn a system.  Almost every system can produce results.  Don?t go from one system to the next.  Take some time to learn one system.

2.)    Take action!  People get stuck with ?analysis paralysis.?  Once you have settled on a system and learned the basics, don?t be afraid to take action.  Get out there and do it.  If you make mistakes, so be it.  You will have setbacks, but don?t worry about it.  Fail fast and fail forward.

3.)    Learn to write sales copy.  Perhaps the most important online marketing tip I can give you is to learn to write sales copy.  There may come a time when you outsource this task to professional copywriters, but knowing the basics yourself will allow you to evaluate their work.  Besides, you probably can?t afford to spend thousands of dollars right now on a professional, so learning to do it yourself is important.

4.)    Learn to write articles quickly.  One of the best ways to promote your products is to write articles like this one and submit them to directories.  But, if it takes you 2 hours to write a single article, you will not be able to put out the quantity needed to make money online.  One expert has a system down where he can write articles in just 7 minutes.  While it will probably take you more than that at first, strive to write at least two an hour.  They don?t have to pass your 10th grade English teacher?s muster, they just have to send people to your site.

5.)    Consider Pay Per Click.  PPC is the quickest way to deliver traffic to your website.  However, if you don?t learn how to do it, you can lose your shirt.  If you have a product that you want to start selling right away, PPC is the best avenue for you.  But learn the ins and outs before you bid on high priced, high trafficked keywords.

6.)    Create processes.  You shouldn?t re-invent the wheel every time you create a new product or a new web site.  Instead, have a specific system.  Develop your own guide book to setting up a blog or promoting an ebook.  Not only will this save you time in the long run, it will also help you make more money.  This is one of those online marketing tips that so many marketers miss.

7.)    Create value.  Don?t think that internet marketing is all about taking your customer?s money.  Don?t think of your customers as ?marks.?  Develop relationships with them and provide value to them.  It?s much harder to get an initial customer than have someone who trusts you buy from you again.

So, there are seven online marketing tips to get you going.  Now, go get started!

AdWords Elite-Get Targeted Traffic For Your Website

Getting targeted traffic to a website is one of the most important aspects of internet marketing. While there are several ways to do this, none of them cause as much confusion and anxiety as Google AdWords. That's why Jason O'Brien has put together one of the best-known home study courses on the subject: AdWords Elite.

Jason claims that people can go from $0 day to $200 a day by following the course for as little as one week. To make an even bolder claim, he says that this can all be done in about two hours per day. Needless to say, such claims should make anybody wonder about their accuracy. So, the question is whether it really is possible, and if it is something that you would like to do.

Perhaps it's a good idea to take a moment or two to explain what AdWords is. When you search for something on Google, you will notice that there are two different types of listings in the results. There are the normal results (also referred to as 'organic') which account for the vast majority of what you see. Then there are the paid results which normally appear at the very top of the normal listings, and also to the right side. If you look closely you will notice some indication that these are indeed ads.

AdWords is how those ads get there, and AdWords Elite promises to show you how to capitalize on them. With AdWords you select your keywords (the terms a searcher would most likely enter to find your offer), build your ad, and then set up a budget. You pay Google money every time someone clicks on a link in one of your AdWords ads. Therefore, it is critical that you not only set up a good ad, but that you are able to turn those clicks into revenue.

At first, it all sounds quite simple: create an ad and everybody that clicks will buy something. That may be true, but a lot of people have lost a lot of money by trying "this AdWords thing". That's because there are several elements that go into running an effective and profitable AdWords campaign. Also, depending on your niche, you could be placing ads against some very savvy competition.

AdWords Elite basically shows you everything you need to know, from choosing the best keywords to crafting a good ad, from choosing the right products to getting higher sales conversions. At first it can seem like a daunting task, but Mr. O'Brien has put it all together in an easy-to-follow format that takes you by the hand and gets you from zero to profit in a few short days. If you are interested in capitalizing on the search traffic that Google generates, then AdWords Elite is a very wise investment.

Articles On Internet Marketing

There are many writers out there who have become quite proficient at making money in the internet by writing articles on internet marketing, among other subjects. With the growing number of internet marketers these writers have quite the audience for their work.

Writing articles on internet marketing may not be the only niche they write articles for, however. Being knowledgeable in many subjects can give these writers a broader variety of things to write about. If they have marketed themselves correctly the money they make can be quite significant.

Anyone can do this, all you need is a computer and the ability to string a sentence together. You can write original articles and submit them to article directories and get paid. You have to apply to these sites and may or may not get turned down. If you should happen to get turned down then just keep plugging away until you find someone to "hire" you.

Some writers search for batches of inexpensive private label rights articles and rewrite them before submitting them. These PLR articles may not be the best quality but anything can be improved upon by the rewriting. These PLR articles are used due to the fact that even though the quality is mediocre, they still have helped draw in traffic.

The best thing to do is to find a directory that not only pays you for your original article but one that also offers ongoing residuals for every time your article gets read. The residual may not be earth-shattering but if you have a bunch of articles that regularly get read then your commission may be worth the trouble.

Some positive aspects to writing articles and selling them on the internet is that you get to supplement your monthly income. In this rough economy who can't use a few extra bucks? Another upside is that you can build up your cache of original content and increase your reputation for writing and possibly attract some higher paying customers. Lastly, just think of the knowledge you are gaining by having to research some of the topics you write about. You are, or will soon be, a fountain of useless information.

Seller beware! There are unscrupulous people out there who will hire you to write for them and never pay you. It would be best if you asked for payment up front, that way you will not get scammed. You should be the one setting the price for your writing.

If you are writing articles on internet marketing that is quality content for someone and they do not want to pay your price, as long as it is reasonable to begin with, then cut your losses and find someone else to work with.

You also may want to think about copyrighting your best articles so someone does not come along and plagiarize you. You will want to have some type of legal recourse if this happens. Keep what is yours, yours. Never let anyone step in and steal your thunder.

Affiliate Internet Marketing

Affiliate internet marketing is a great way to make money promoting someone else's product. When you sign up as an affiliate, you receive an affiliate ID and URL. If you already have a website then you can start promoting their product on your site. Whenever someone visits your site and you make a sale then you  get a commission.

The commission is usually a percentage of the purchase price of the product. If you do not have a website then you will need to get or make one. Sometimes the company you are working for will provide one to you and all you have to do is start getting traffic to the site. There are many ways to drive traffic to your site.

Do some homework and find a product that you think would be a good item to promote. Sign up to become an affiliate and if you are selected by the company then you can move forward and get everything in order to start making money. There are more steps involved so make sure you do not miss or skip over any of them. It will only take longer to make some extra cash.

Should you have to build you own site you will also have to buy a domain name and pay to get it hosted. The cost for a domain name is minimal at only about $10 a year. When you buy a domain name you are basically staking your claim on a parcel of the internet. Just like when the pioneers staked their claim on parcels of land, you now own a piece of the internet.

The domain name you choose is very important. It should have the keyword for the product you are promoting in it. Do some keyword research to find the best keywords to use. A good keyword is one that has high searches every month but that also has low competition. A keyword like this is like money in the bank. Download a good keyword tool and spend some time looking for a good one. Check out some long-tailed keywords, you might find your little golden nugget has four or five words in it.

You will need a good content management system, or CMS, to install a blogging platform on your affiliate internet marketing website. Your web hosting service may install a blogging platform automatically on your site. The  all you have to do is keep it updated and interesting. Use some backlinks to your website to help drive customers, or traffic, to your site.

People will respond to your blog if you keep it professional and sound like you know what you are talking about. To make the sales people have to believe that you are an authority on the subject. They need to trust you.

Now that your affiliate internet marketing site is up you can start posting reviews pertaining to the product you are promoting or you can write articles describing the product and it's benefits. Ask former customers to write testimonials and post them, too. One satisfied customer might bring in maybe as many as five to ten others looking for the same product.

Advanced Internet Marketing

Most people, who aren't internet marketers, don't fully understand what internet marketing really is all about. At it's core, internet marketing is just a way to use the vast potential of the internet to find more customers. There are many things you will want to learn when you start marketing online and that is where advanced internet marketing training comes in.

Obviously, before you worry about advanced internet marketing you need to make sure you have a firm grasp of the basics. With so many methods to connect with others online you must know what works, and what doesn't.

Another thing you should keep in mind is that things online change quickly. What worked great yesterday, or last year, either might not work as well or they might not work at all.

A big part of the reason for this is that the search engines are continually updating their programming (their algorithms) in the hopes of improving the experiences of their searchers.

These changes can, and sometimes do, have a dramatic impact on the websites online. It is important that you stay current with these changes.

More than one internet marketer has gone to bed with a website that was doing really well:ranked high and getting a lot of traffic, only to wake up the next morning and find their once first page site is now on page 117 of the results.

Of course there are ways to avoid that and the best method is to update your site frequently (this is why a lot of internet marketers prefer a Wordpress blog style website. It is easy to update) and provide your website visitors with a lot of quality.

The search engines are getting better at being able to detect quality content on a website. They will reward that site by giving it a high placement on the results page.

Here are a few of the internet marketing strategies you will want to implement. Some of these are more about getting traffic to your website, others are more about converting that traffic into paying customers. But they are all necessary:

1. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) - if you want your website ranked highly, you have to let the search engines know what your site is about. Using simple SEO strategies on your site can help you get more free, targeted traffic.

2. Pay Per Click (PPC) - this advanced technique of getting traffic can work quickly but only after you learn how to do it. There is a learning curve and it will cost you if you make mistakes.

3. Email Marketing: this is more about "bonding" with your website visitors and building trust with them than actually driving traffic. Online it can be hard to stand out from the crowd and let people "get to know you" or trust you. By having a chance to send them emails over a period of time you can build rapport with them.

Learning some basic and advanced internet marketing skills can help you turn your business into a very profitable endeavor. It doesn't matter if you have an offline business or an online business, learning new skills can help you make more money.
